Sales: May 2012 sales of merchant wholesalers were $409.6 billion, down 0.8 percent from the revised April level, but were up 5.7 percent from the May 2011 level Inventories: Total inventories of merchant wholesalers were $484.1 billion at the end of May, up 0.3 percent from the revised April level and were up 6.4 percent(+/-0.9%)from the May 2011 level. Inventories/Sales Ratio: The May inventories/sales ratio for merchant wholesalers based on seasonally adjusted data, was 1.18. The May 2011 ratio was 1.17. Source: USDOC
