New orders for manufactured durable goods in June
increased $3.4 billion or 1.6 percent to $221.6 billion. This increase,
up two consecutive months, followed a 1.6 percent May
increase. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 1.1 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 0.7 percent. Transportation equipment, up four of the last five months, had the largest increase, $5.1 billion or 8.0 percent to $68.8 billion. Source: USDOC |
