Sales: July 2012 sales of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, after adjustment for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, were $402.4 billion, down 0.1 percent (+/-0.4) from the revised June level, but were up 2.7 percent (+/-0.7%) from the July 2011 level. Inventories: Total inventories of merchant wholesalers were $485.2 billion at the end of July, up 0.7 percent (+/-0.4%) from the revised June level and were up 5.3 percent (+/-1.1%) from the July 2011 level.
