∙ U.S. Average Hours of Work – May 2012


The average workweek for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls edged down by 0.1 hour to 34.4 hours in May. The manufacturing workweek declined by 0.3 hour to 40.5 hours, and factory overtime declined by 0.1 hour to 3.2 hours.

The average workweek for production and nonsupervisory employees on private nonfarm payrolls was unchanged at 33.7 hours.
