In the week ending June 28, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 315,000, an increase of 2,000
from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 312,000 to 313,000. The 4-week moving average was 315,000, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 314,250 to 314,500. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 2.0 percent for the week ending June 21, unchanged from the previous week's unrevised rate. The highest insured unemployment rates in the week ending June 14 were in Puerto Rico (3.9), Alaska (3.8), New Jersey (2.9), California (2.8), Connecticut (2.7), Pennsylvania (2.7), Nevada (2.6), Illinois (2.4), Massachusetts (2.2), and Virgin Islands (2.2). The largest increases in initial claims for the week ending June 21 were in New Jersey (+3,235), Connecticut (+1,864), Maryland (+1,624), New York (+1,430), and Wisconsin (+1,233), while the largest decreases were in Pennsylvania (- 1,593), Ohio (-1,381), Florida (-1,341), Illinois (-1,327), and South Carolina (-591).
