• U.S. Advance Monthly Sales for Retail and Food Services— August 2015

U.S. retail and food services sales for August, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $447.7 billion, an increase of 0.2 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, and 2.2 percent (±0.7%) above August 2014. Total sales for the June 2015 through August 2015 period were up 2.2 percent (±0.5%) from the same period a year ago.

Retail trade sales were up 0.1 percent (±0.5%) from July 2015, and 1.4 percent (±0.7%) above last year. Food services and drinking places were up 8.2 percent (±3.3%) from August 2014 and nonstore retailers were up 6.9 percent (±1.4%) from last year.

• U.S. Advance Monthly Sales for Retail and Food Services — June 2015


U.S. retail and food services sales for June, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $442.0 billion, a decrease of 0.3 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, but up 1.4 percent (±0.9%) above June 2014.

Total sales for the April 2015 through June 2015 period were up 1.7 percent (±0.7%) from the same period a year ago.

The April 2015 to May 2015 percent change was revised from +1.2 percent (±0.5%) to +1.0 percent (±0.3%). ….”

• U.S. Advance Monthly Sales for Retail And Food Services — May 2015


Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for May, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $444.9 billion, an increase of 1.2 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, and 2.7 percent (±0.9%) above May 2014.

Total sales for the March 2015 through May 2015 period were up 2.1 percent (±0.7%) from the same period a year ago. The March 2015 to April 2015 percent change was revised from virtually unchanged (±0.5%)* to +0.2 percent (±0.2%).

Retail trade sales were up 1.4 percent (±0.5%) from April 2015, and 2.0 percent (±0.7%) above last year. Motor vehicle and parts dealers were up 8.2 percent (±3.0%) from May 2014 and food services and drinking places were up 8.2 percent (±3.3%) from last year.

• U.S. Retail Sales – Auguest 2013


U.S. retail and food services sales for August, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $426.6 billion, an increase of 0.2 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, and 4.7 percent (±0.7%) above August 2012.

Total sales for the June through August 2013 period were up 5.4 percent (±0.5%) from the same period a year ago. The June to July 2013 percent change was revised from +0.2 percent (±0.5%) to +0.4 percent (±0.2%).

U.S. retail and food services sales for July, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, were $424.5 billion, an increase of 0.2 percent (±0.5%) from the previous month, and 5.4 percent (±0.7%) above July 2012.

Total sales for the May through July 2013 period were up 5.2 percent (±0.5%) from the same period a year ago. The May to June 2013 percent change was revised from +0.4 percent (±0.5%) to +0.6 percent (±0.2%).
