• U.S. Employers Want Business Grads — 2016

“By broad category, the highest percentage of employers responding to NACE's Job Outlook 2016 survey reported that they will hire business graduates. Likewise, graduates in individual business majors are also in high demand among respondents, who represent organizations with a focused effort to recruit new college graduates.

”Nearly 70 percent of responding employers plan on hiring graduates from the business disciplines, while 66.7 percent anticipate hiring those in engineering and 57.8 percent expect to hire computer and information sciences graduates.

”Meanwhile, three of the top four majors in demand—accounting (54.4 percent), finance (50.6 percent), and business administration/management (47.8 percent)—are business majors. Computer science (53.9 percent) and mechanical engineering (47.8 percent) majors also landed in the top five….”

• U.S. Master’s Degree Salaries Reported — Class of 2015

"When it comes to the top average salaries among Class of 2015 master's degree disciplines, the technical disciplines top the list, according to a new report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

"It is early in the salary-reporting cycle and data are limited, but NACE's Fall 2015 Salary Survey shows that those studying the computer and information sciences fields command the highest average starting salary among master's degree graduates—$79,614. They are followed by engineering graduates, who received an average starting salary of $70,844.

"The story is a little different at the doctorate level, where graduates studying in the business, management, and marketing discipline fared best...."

• U.S. College Grads Hiring Forecast — Class of 2016

“The hiring outlook for college graduates continues to improve as employers plan to hire 11 percent more new college graduates for their U.S. operations from the Class of 2016 than they did from the Class of 2015, according to results of a new study…

”NACE’s Job Outlook 2016 survey report indicates that this is a slight bump up from last spring when employers responding to the association’s Job Outlook 2015 Spring Update survey reported an end-of-year hiring increase of almost 10 percent for Class of 2015 graduates...."

• U.S. “Class of 2015: Students’ Post-Graduation Plans Hint at Improving Job Market”

“Although the movements are slight, the Class of 2015’s post-graduation plans reflect a gradual improvement in the college hiring market as nearly 61 percent of graduates plan to enter the work force, according to a recent report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

”The plans that graduating seniors have tend to be reflective of the state of the college hiring market. When students perceive the market to be healthy, they are more are likely to enter the work force immediately after graduation. Conversely, when they perceive the market to be weaker, the percentage planning to immediately go on to graduate school increases….”

“Where do liberal arts and humanities graduates go after graduation?

”Three in five liberal arts bachelor’s degree graduates (60.5 percent) from the Class of 2014 landed full-time jobs or a place in graduate school within six months of graduation, according to results of a new study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

”NACE’s Class of 2014 First-Destination Survey found that 42.2 percent of liberal arts and humanities graduates were in full-time positions while 18.3 percent were in graduate or professional school….”

• U.S. "Engineering Majors Expected to Be Top Earners for the Class of 2015"


“Petroleum engineering graduates are expected to come out on top in terms of starting salaries for the Class of 2015, according to a report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). The projected median starting salary for bachelor’s degree-level petroleum engineering graduates stands at $93,750.

”Employers providing data for NACE’s January 2015 Salary Survey anticipate offering high starting salaries to a variety of engineering majors. In fact, engineering disciplines account for the report’s top 10 earners."

”Overall, Class of 2014 new college graduates at the bachelor’s degree level commanded an average starting salary of $48,127, according to a new report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

”NACE’s Spring 2015 Salary Survey report shows that the median starting salary is slightly lower at $45,478....

”Graduates with degrees in the engineering and business fields beat that overall average; their average starting salaries were $64,891 and $49,807, respectively.

• U.S. Top-Paid Business Majors at the Bachelor’s and Master’s Levels — 2015


Management information systems (MIS) majors are projected to earn the highest average starting salary among Class of 2015 bachelor’s degree business graduates, and marketing majors are expected to be the top business earners at the master’s level, according to a report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

NACE’s January 2015 Salary Survey shows that, among bachelor’s graduates, MIS majors are projected to earn starting salaries that average nearly $56,000. Logistics/supply chain, finance, and accounting majors are also expected to earn top average salaries among business majors.

At the master’s degree level, marketing majors are projected to earn an average starting salary of nearly $78,000. Other top earners are expected to be finance, business administration/management, and logistics/supply chain majors.

• U.S. College Salary Projections — 2015


"Engineering majors are projected to be the top-paid bachelor’s degree graduates from the Class of 2015, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

"Employers responding to NACE’s January 2015 Salary Survey projected starting salaries for engineering graduates overall that average $62,998. Within the reported engineering disciplines, petroleum engineering majors are likely to earn the highest salaries with an anticipated average salary of $80,600."

"Following closely behind the engineering graduates in terms of projected starting salaries are those earning bachelor’s degrees in the computer sciences fields; these grads are projected to earn an average starting salary of $61,287, with specific computer science majors having an average projected salary of $62,377.

"At $56,171, the third-highest average salary projection among the bachelor’s degree broad categories is for math and sciences majors. Within these disciplines, physics majors received the highest projection—$64,625."

• Class of 2014 Grad Starting Salaries Climb 7.5%


“The overall average starting salary for Class of 2014 college graduates stands at $48,707, up 7.5 percent from the average of $45,327 posted by the Class of 2013 at this time last year, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
