• U.S. County Employment & Wages — 2014 to 2015

From June 2014 to June 2015, employment increased in 319 of the 342 largest U.S. counties (counties with 75,000 or more jobs in 2014).

The U.S. average weekly wage increased 3.0 percent over the year, growing to $968 in the second quarter of 2015.

• U.S. Employment and Wages by County — Q1 2015

From March 2014 to March 2015, employment increased in 323 of the 342 largest U.S. counties (counties with 75,000 or more jobs in 2014). Utah, Utah, had the largest percentage increase, with a gain of 6.7 percent over the year, compared with national job growth of 2.1 percent.

The U.S. average weekly wage increased 2.1 percent over the year, growing to $1,048 in the first quarter of 2015. Olmsted, Minn., had the largest over-the-year percentage increase in average weekly wages with a gain of 11.7 percent.

• U.S. County Employment— Q3 2014


From September 2013 to September 2014, employment increased in 306 of the 339 largest U.S. counties.

Weld, Colo., had the largest increase, with a gain of 8.8 percent over the year, compared with national job growth of 2.0 percent. Within Weld, the largest employment increase occurred in natural resources and mining, which gained 2,299 jobs over the year (22.1 percent).

Atlantic, N.J., had the largest over-the-year decrease in employment among the largest counties in the U.S. with a loss of 4.0 percent.

• U.S. Wages and Employment — By County


Employment: From June 2013 to June 2014, employment increased in 305 of the 339 largest U.S. counties . Weld, Colo., had the largest increase, with a gain of 8.9 percent over the year, compared with national job growth of 2.0 percent.

Atlantic, N.J., had the largest over-the-year decrease in employment among the largest counties in the U.S. with a loss of 1.6 percent.

Wages: The U.S. average weekly wage increased 2.1 percent over the year, growing to $940 in the second quarter of 2014. Midland, Texas, had the largest over-the-year increase in average weekly wages with a gain of 9.0 percent.

Williamson, Texas, experienced the largest decrease in average weekly wages with a loss of 2.7 percent over the year.

• U.S. Employment & Wages By County – Q1 2014


From March 2013 to March 2014, employment increased in 281 of the 339 largest U.S. counties.. Weld, Colo., had the largest increase, with a gain of 7.5 percent over the year, compared with national job growth of 1.7 percent. Peoria, Ill., had the largest over-the-year decrease in employment among the largest counties in the U.S. with a loss of 2.6 percent.

The U.S. average weekly wage increased 3.8 percent over the year, growing to $1,027 in the first quarter of 2014. Chester, Pa., had the largest over-the-year increase in average weekly wages with a gain of 13.9 percent. Benton, Ark., experienced the largest decrease in average weekly wages with a loss of 3.2 percent over the year.

• U.S. Employment and Wages, By County – Q4 2013


From December 2012 to December 2013, employment increased in 292 of the 334 largest U.S. Counties.

The U.S. average weekly wage was unchanged over the year, remaining at $1,000 in the fourth quarter of 2013.
