• U.S. Personal Income, Expenditures, Compensation — February 2015


Personal income increased $58.6 billion, or 0.4 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $54.2 billion, or 0.4 percent, in February, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $11.8 billion, or 0.1 percent. In January, personal income increased $61.8 billion, or 0.4 percent, DPI increased $61.5 billion, or 0.5 percent, and PCE decreased $28.5 billion, or 0.2 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.2 percent in February, compared with an increase of 0.9 percent in January. Real PCE decreased 0.1 percent, in contrast to an increase of 0.2 percent.

Compensation: Wages and salaries increased $23.9 billion in February, compared with an increase of $47.3 billion in January.

Private wages and salaries increased $21.9 billion, compared with an increase of $44.2 billion.

Government wages and salaries increased $2.1 billion, compared with an increase of $3.1 billion. Pay raises for federal civilian personnel added an additional $0.6 billion to the change in government payrolls in February; pay raises for federal civilian and military personnel added $2.2 billion to government payrolls in January.

Supplements to wages and salaries increased $5.2 billion in February, compared with an increase of $8.4 billion in January.

• U.S. Personal Income and Outlays — December 2014


Personal income increased $41.3 billion, or 0.3 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $35.8 billion, or 0.3 percent, in December.

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) decreased $40.0 billion, or 0.3 percent.

In November, personal income increased $47.2 billion, or 0.3 percent, DPI increased $34.2 billion, or 0.3 percent, and PCE increased $58.8 billion, or 0.5 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.5 percent in December, compared with an increase of 0.4 percent in November. Real PCE decreased 0.1 percent, in contrast to an increase of 0.7 percent.

The price index for PCE decreased 0.2 percent in December, the same decrease as in November.

• U.S. Personal Income — October 2014


Personal income increased $32.9 billion, or 0.2 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $23.4 billion, or 0.2 percent, in October.

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $27.3 billion, or 0.2 percent. In September, personal income increased $24.6 billion, or 0.2 percent, DPI increased $17.2 billion, or 0.1 percent, and PCE increased $4.1 billion, or less than 0.1 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.1 percent in October, the same increase as in September. Real PCE increased 0.2 percent in October, in contrast to a decrease of less than 0.1 percent in September.

• U.S. Personal Income and Outlays - September 2014


Personal income increased $22.7 billion, or 0.2 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $15.7 billion, or 0.1 percent, in September.

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) decreased $19.0 billion, or 0.2 percent. In August, personal income increased $50.7 billion, or 0.3 percent, DPI increased $37.5 billion, or 0.3 percent, and PCE increased $58.7 billion, or 0.5 percent, based on revised estimates.

Personal income increased $47.3 billion, or 0.3 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $35.2 billion, or 0.3 percent, in August. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $57.5 billion, or 0.5 percent.

In July, personal income increased $35.9 billion, or 0.2 percent, DPI increased $24.6 billion, or 0.2 percent, and PCE increased $0.5 billion, or less than 0.1 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.3 percent in August, compared with an increase of 0.1 percent in July. Real PCE increased 0.5 percent, in contrast to a decrease of 0.1 percent.

• U.S. Personal Income – April 2014


Personal income increased $43.7 billion, or 0.3 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $44.6 billion, or 0.3 percent, in April. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) decreased $8.1 billion, or 0.1 percent.

In March, personal income increased $76.3 billion, or 0.5 percent, DPI increased $65.0 billion, or 0.5 percent, and PCE increased $117.6 billion, or 1.0 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.2 percent in April, compared with an increase of 0.3 percent in March. Real PCE decreased 0.3 percent, in contrast to an increase of 0.8 percent.

• U.S. Personal Income and Outlays – March 2014


Personal income increased $78.4 billion, or 0.5 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $68.0 billion, or 0.5 percent, in March. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $107.2 billion, or 0.9 percent. In February, personal income increased $54.3 billion, or 0.4 percent, DPI increased $47.6 billion, or 0.4 percent, and PCE increased $54.7 billion, or 0.5 percent, based on revised estimates.

Real DPI increased 0.3 percent in March, the same increase as in February. Real PCE increased 0.7 percent in March, compared with an increase of 0.4 percent in February.
