• U.S. Producer Price Index — October 2015

The Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.4 percent in October. Final demand prices dropped 0.5 percent in September and were unchanged in August.

In October, prices for final demand services fell 0.3 percent and final demand goods declined 0.4 percent.

• U.S. Producer Price Index PPI for Final Demand Decreases 0.5% — September 2015

The Producer Price Index for final demand declined 0.5 percent in September. Final demand prices were unchanged in August and rose 0.2 percent in July.

In September, prices for final demand goods fell 1.2 percent and the index for final demand services decreased 0.4 percent.

• U.S. Producer Price Indexes — August 2015

The Producer Price Index for final demand was unchanged in August. Final demand prices rose 0.2 percent in July and 0.4 percent in June.

In August, a 0.4-percent increase in the index for final demand services offset a 0.6-percent decrease in prices for final demand goods.

• U.S. Producer Price Indexes — July 2015

The Producer Price Index for final demand advanced 0.2 percent in July, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices rose 0.4 percent in June and 0.5 percent in May.

On an unadjusted basis, the final demand index moved down 0.8 percent for the 12 months ended in July, the sixth straight 12-month decline.

The increase in the final demand index in July can be traced to prices for final demand services, which climbed 0.4 percent. In contrast, the index for final demand goods edged down 0.1 percent.

• U.S. Producer Price Indexes — June 2015


The Producer Price Index for final demand advanced 0.4 percent in June, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices rose 0.5 percent in May and declined 0.4 percent in April. On an unadjusted basis, the final demand index moved down 0.7 percent for the 12 months ended in June, the fifth straight 12-month decrease.

In June, nearly two-thirds of the increase in the final demand index can be attributed to prices for final demand goods, which rose 0.7 percent. The index for final demand services advanced 0.3 percent.

• U.S. Producer Price Indexes — May 2015


The Producer Price Index for final demand rose 0.5 percent in May, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices fell 0.4 percent in April and advanced 0.2 percent in March.

On an unadjusted basis, the final demand index declined 1.1 percent for the 12 months ended in May, the fourth straight 12-month decrease.

In May, the increase in the final demand index can be traced to prices for final demand goods, which rose 1.3 percent. The index for final demand services was unchanged.

Within intermediate demand, prices for processed goods climbed 1.0 percent, the index for unprocessed goods jumped 3.3 percent, and prices for services fell 0.5 percent.

The Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.8 percent in January, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices moved down 0.2 percent in both December and November.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand was unchanged for the 12 months ended in January.

In January, the 0.8-percent decline in final demand prices can be traced primarily to a 2.1-percent decrease in the index for final demand goods. Prices for final demand services fell 0.2 percent.

• U.S. Producer Price Index – October 2014


SA:The Producer Price Index for final demand rose 0.2 percent in October, seasonally adjusted. This increase followed a 0.1-percent decline in September and no change in August.

NSA: On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand advanced 1.5 percent for the 12 months ended in October, the smallest 12-month increase since a 1.2-percent rise in February 2014.

In October, the 0.2-percent rise in final demand prices can be traced to the index for final demand services, which advanced 0.5 percent. In contrast, prices for final demand goods moved down 0.4 percent.

Within intermediate demand, prices for processed goods declined 0.9 percent, the index for unprocessed goods fell 2.4 percent, and prices for services inched up 0.1 percent.

The Producer Price Index for final demand decreased 0.1 percent in September, seasonally adjusted. Final demand prices were unchanged in August and advanced 0.1 percent in July.

On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand increased 1.6 percent for the 12 months ended in September.

In September, the 0.1-percent decrease in final demand prices can be traced to the indexes for both goods and services, which moved down 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.”

• U.S. Producer Price Index – December 2013


The Producer Price Index for finished goods advanced 0.4 percent in December, seasonally adjusted. Prices for finished goods declined 0.1 percent in November and 0.2 percent in October.

At the earlier stages of processing, prices received by producers of intermediate goods rose 0.6 percent in December, and the crude goods index climbed 2.4 percent.

On an unadjusted basis, prices for finished goods increased 1.2 percent in 2013 compared with a 1.4-percent advance in 2012.
