• U.S. Advance Report on Durable Goods Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories and Orders — December 2015

New orders for manufactured durable goods in December decreased $12.0 billion or 5.1 percent to $225.4 billion. This decrease, down four of the last five months, followed a 0.5 percent November decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 1.2 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 2.9 percent.

Transportation equipment, also down four of the last five months, led the decrease, $10.1 billion or 12.4 percent to $71.3 billion.

• U.S. Durable Goods Orders, Shipments, Inventories — November 2015

Orders: New orders for manufactured durable goods in November increased $0.1 billion or virtually unchanged to $238.8 billion. This increase, up two consecutive months, followed a 2.9 percent October increase. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 0.1 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 1.5 percent.

Shipments: Shipments of manufactured durable goods in November, up two of the last three months, increased $2.1 billion, or 0.9 percent, to $241.8 billion. This followed a 1.2 percent October decrease.

Inventories: Inventories of manufactured durable goods in November, down six of the last seven months, decreased $1.1 billion, or 0.3 percent, to $395.7 billion. This followed a 0.3 percent October decrease. billion.

• U.S. Durable Goods Orders — October 2015

New orders for manufactured durable goods in October increased $6.9 billion or 3.0 percent to $239.0 billions. This increase, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, followed a 0.8 percent September decrease.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods in October, down two of the last three months, decreased $2.5 billion, or 1.0 percent, to $240.1 billion. This followed a 0.2 percent September increase.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in October, down five of the last six months, decreased $0.7 billion, or 0.2 percent, to $397.4 billion. This followed a 0.6 percent September decrease.

New orders for manufactured durable goods in September decreased $2.9 billion or 1.2 percent to $231.1 billion. This decrease, down two consecutive months, followed a 3.0 percent August decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 0.4 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 2.0 percent.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods in September, up three of the last four months, increased $0.4 billion, or 0.2 percent, to $242.5 billion. This followed a 0.5 percent August decrease.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in September, down four of the last five months, decreased $1.3 billion, or 0.3 percent, to $399.4 billion. This followed a 0.2 percent August decrease.

Excluding defense, new orders decreased $2.2 billion or 1.0 percent.

Shipments: Shipments of manufactured durable goods in August, down following two consecutive monthly increases, decreased less than $0.1 billion, or virtually unchanged, to $243.2 billion. This followed a 1.0 percent July increase.

Inventories: Inventories of manufactured durable goods in August, up two of the last three months, increased $0.1 billion, or virtually unchanged, to $401.4 billion. This followed a 0.2 percent July decrease.

New orders for manufactured durable goods in July increased $4.6 billion or 2.0 percent to $241.1 billion. This increase, up two consecutive months, followed a 4.1 percent June increase.

Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.6 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 1.0 percent.

Transportation equipment, also up two consecutive months, led the increase, $3.8 billion or 4.7 percent to $83.2 billion. …”

• U.S. Durable Goods Orders — June 2015


New orders for manufactured durable goods in June increased $7.7 billion or 3.4 percent to $235.3 billion. This increase, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, followed a 2.1 percent May decrease. Excluding transportation, new ordersincreased 0.8 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 3.8 percent.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods in June, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $0.3 billion or 0.1 percent to $239.4 billion. This followed a 0.3 percent May decrease.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in June, up twenty-four of the last twenty-five months, increased $1.6 billion or 0.4 percent to $402.3 billion. This was at the highest level since the series was first published on a NAICS basis.

• U.S. Advance Report on Durable Goods Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories and Orders— May 2015


New orders for manufactured durable goods in May decreased $4.1 billion or 1.8 percent to $228.9 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today. This decrease, down three of the last four months, followed a 1.5 percent April decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.5 percent. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 2.1 percent.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods in May, down four of the last five months, decreased $0.2 billion or 0.1 percent to $239.9 billion. This followed a 0.2 percent April decrease.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in May, down following twenty-three consecutive monthly increases, decreased $0.8 billion or 0.2 percent to $400.6 billion. This followed a 0.2 percent April increase.

• U.S. Durable Goods Orders, Shipments, & Inventories — April 2015


Orders: New orders for manufactured durable goods in April decreased $1.2 billion or 0.5 percent to $235.5 billion. This decrease, down two of the last three months, followed a 5.1 percent March increase. Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.5 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.2 percent.

Shipments: Shipments of manufactured durable goods in April, down three of the last four months, decreased $0.1 billion or 0.1 percent to $240.5 billion. This followed a 1.5 percent March increase.

Inventories: Inventories of manufactured durable goods in April, up twenty-four of the last twenty-five months, increased $0.9 billion or 0.2 percent to $401.5 billion. This was at the highest level since the series was first published on a NAICS basis in 1992 and followed a virtually unchanged March increase.
