Real average hourly earnings for all employees rose 0.3 percent from January to February, seasonally
adjusted. This increase stems from a 0.4 percent
increase in average hourly earnings being partially offset by a 0.1 percent increase in the Consumer
Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U).
Real average weekly earnings were unchanged over the month due to the 0.3 percent increase in real average hourly earnings being offset by a 0.3 percent decrease in the average workweek. Real average hourly earnings rose 1.1 percent, seasonally adjusted, from February 2013 to February 2014. The increase in real average hourly earnings, combined with a 0.9 percent decline in the average workweek, resulted in a 0.2 percent increase in real average weekly earnings over this period.
